Amy Mak, NCTMB, RMT

Born and raised in NYC, Amy attended undergraduate studies at Wells College (Aurora, NY) and majored in psychology with a minor in math, graduating cum laude with distinction in psychology.  Shortly after graduation, she moved to Colorado based on a friend’s recommendation and has lived in Boulder ever since.

In 2001, Amy studied Reiki Level 1 with Tsy Schupack, Reiki Level 2 one year later with Nicole Zimmerman and completed her Reiki Master Teacher certification with Nicole at the end of 2002.  In January 2005, Amy received her Reiki Master Teacher certification from Tsy as well. In the interim, Amy also completed a certificate program in Crystology, as taught by Melody, author of Love Is In The Earth.

In 2003, Amy began her studies at the Boulder College of Massage Therapy (BCMT), enrolling in the 2-year evening program while working part time for a local naturopathic doctor, building a private Reiki practice, and volunteering for LifeSpark Cancer Resources.  Amy’s 1000+ hours of training at BCMT included Zen Shiatsu, Swedish Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Orthopedic and Integrative Massage. Since her completion of the program Amy has received additional continuing education in prenatal massage and Advanced Myofascial Techniques addressing scoliosis, whiplash, TMJ Dysfunction, and low back pain. More recently, Amy completed a certificate program for Intrinsic Coaching® with Totally Coached, Inc. She has been certified with the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) since 2005, is registered in the state of CO for massage therapy (RMT), and is a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA).

With nearly ten years in the healing arts profession, Amy offers her compassion, intuition, skill and knowledge to support each client in their pursuit of greater well-being.  She ably synthesizes her energy medicine background with the clinical and intuitive aspects of massage therapy, creating an experience that sparks inner transformation while allowing the body’s healing intelligence to come forth. Amy is continually inspired by her role in facilitating growth and awakening the healing potential in each client.

During her free time, Amy enjoys running, rollerblading, biking, yoga, journaling, meditation, writing, web design, and spending time with her husband Jason and two kitties Gwen and Puck.
