TarotHow to Phrase your Reading Questions
The tarot is a tool that can be used to help one pinpoint problem areas to allow for changes to be made for a better future. It provides a glimpse into the future, which is never set in stone, so one can either choose to remain on the path they are already on, or to change directions to create their desired outcome.
Why and how does the tarot work? There are infinite explanations that are available and might work for different individuals; however, I have found that the intention, focus and phrasing of each question for each reading are always key factors that contribute to the success to all readings.
Here are some suggested guidelines:
Things you can do:
Get clear on what you want to know
Keep it simple
Focus your thoughts
Great ways to start off a question:
"What do I need to know or do in order to [state your desired outcome]?"
"What does Spirit want me to know about [state your subject matter]?"
"What is most likely to happen between now and (x amount of time) regarding [state
your subject matter]?"
Things I don't recommend:
Questions that start with "Will I ever..."
These kinds of questions are too broad, and for some reason, the cards are not likely to respond in a way that will be satisfactory to you.
Part of this can be that so much of the future is dependent upon your Free
Will and the actions and decisions you make each day that could steer you
in one direction or another.
The possiblities are endless when it
comes to the future, so it would likely be more productive to ask about
something that will be more immediate and useful for the near future.
Questions that require a definitive "Yes" or "No" answer.
The Tarot is a system comprised of collective archetypal images that is
interpreted by the user's intuition and unconscious; thus there is no card
within the deck that provides a simple "yes" or "no" answer. Also, when you ask a question that requires a "yes" or "no" answer,
it often limits the information that comes through.
I wish you the best of luck in your tarot journeys!
