Reiki for Mind, Body & Spirit

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) means "Universal Life Force Energy" in Japanese. It is an abundant energy that is ever-present in all things throughout the Universe. In other cultures, one may call this "God energy," "prana," "chi" or simply, "energy".

When healthy, we are vibrant with this energy, and have little difficulty recovering from minor imbalances and illnesses. However, prolonged stress, illness and imbalances can deplete this supply of energy we normally have, thus making it more difficult to heal.

Reiki sessions help restore this energy in your system, and provides healing and balancing of the mental, physical, spiritual and emotional systems in each person. Reiki is also known to address the cause of any imbalance or ailment because the energy comes from the Source, and healing often begins on the spiritual plane.

Reiki energy is channelled through the practitioner to the person being treated, who draws the energy into his/her system. The energy goes exactly where it is needed most to restore balance and harmony.

Due to the nature of Reiki energy, which some also call "love energy", it works only for the Highest Good of each person, and cannot cause harm. Because of this, Reiki is safe for anyone and for any situation, including pregnant women and children.

Reiki is a form of energetic spiritual healing, but is not affiliated with any particular religion, creed or doctrine. It is an alternative, natural and gentle healing art applied via light physical touch, off-body or distance healing.

As each person is unique, so is each person's experience of Reiki. The most common experiences include deep relaxation, sleepiness, tingling sensation, and/or warmth in the areas being worked on.

Reiki treatments will often initiate a deep cleansing and detoxifying effect on the person being treated. Because of this, some people may find that their symptoms or discomfort will intensify for a few hours to a few days following a Reiki session, only to improve dramatically afterwards. It is thus very important to allow the body to rest and to drink plenty of filtered water to flush out toxins during the days following a session.

Reiki works most powerfully when consecutive sessions are received in a short period of time, and thus, depending upon the level of imbalance, stress and illness in a person, a series of sessions may be needed in order to successfully restore balance and healing.

During your first visit at Soul Workings, a treatment plan may be recommended to support your health and wellness goals.
